Hello from a very relaxed, cup-filled family on Martha’s Vineyard! If you’ve been following along on my socials (or read through my email last week), you’ll know that I’m currently spending some time on the island with family. It has been so heartwarming and special, and there’s not a moment that goes by when I’m not filled with gratitude for this beautiful time.
Because I know so many of you are foodies and beach-seekers too, I wanted to share a couple of the spots on the vineyard that have become absolute favorites! If you ever find yourself there, they really deserve a visit:
Mo’s Lunch in Oak Bluffs. Their Italian sandwich has been a regular order, and the portions are so big that it’s basically two meals.
North Tisbury Farm has the cutest farm stand shop with great pastries and cold brew. (Although I’ve mostly been drinking decaf for the last 9 months or so!)
We went to The Covington restaurant for our first ever date night! (More on that later…)
Aquinnah beach, Philbin beach, Lamberts Cove beach, Squibnocket beach and Lucy Vincent beach have been stunning and beautiful this time of year. We basically check the wind every morning and if it’s coming from the north, we go to a south shore beach and vice versa. We’ve had some incredible fall beach days and the clouds and sky have been stunning!
But make no mistake. Despite the fall sunshine, the beaches and the delicious food, I am still making my way through life with a newborn and it’s no joke! So I thought today I’d share a few of the things that have been making my life a little easier lately. There is so much STUFF when becoming a new parent, and these are the items that I’ve found totally worth it. Plus, after the jump, I’m sharing some recent photos and a more personal update with my paid subscribers. (As always, thank you to all of you who have the means and interest in supporting the work that goes into producing The Love List - I value you immensely.)
Here are those items that have been doing their time (quite a few are on Amazon if you’re in the same stage of life and are taking advantage of the current sale):
A great swaddle/wearable blanket that helps to contain any Houdini arms.
This Hanna Andersson onesie that is so soft, stretchy and cute, with leg snaps at the bottom (honestly, how did we ever consider anything other than snaps!?). It has mitten options for when it’s colder and two sets of buttons for when she grows longer - super clever.
This diaper caddy is a game changer. It has a light on it so it can be used at any time of the day without a fuss, keeps everything in its place and ensures I’m never without a diaper, cream, wipes, or any other paraphernalia that’s required for diaper changes, wherever we are!
On the list of products I never knew existed and now rely on wholeheartedly is a latch light. Perfect for gently lighting up late night feeds and comes with a really handy latch helper.
Baby bouncers that keep Skylar strapped in and happy while I get things done (like shower!). We have one upstairs and one downstairs and I love both - a Baby Bjorn and an Ergo Baby.
Another absolute life saver in the land of babies is the burp cloth. Who knew!?
Along the same lines are these baby bibs. They’re in the sweetest colors and are made of muslin so they’re super soft.
Not in baby land (but a great purchase all the same), we recently upgraded our bath towels. They’re soft and absorbent, and live up to their name as you really do like you’re indulging at a spa. If you’re interested in doing the same, Boil & Branch kindly gave me a code to share with you all - it’s LOVEWELL and gives you 20% off.
Now, enjoy some of our recent photos and stories!
Live, Learn, Lovewell.
