The Love List from Guest Editor, Ally Love!
What Ally's loving and some touching friendship memories.
From Emma: Today I’m extra excited to share The Love List from a very special guest editor, Ally Love! Ally has been a friend for many, many years and it’s a delight to share her magic with you all today. Take it away, Ally!
What Ally thinks of Emma:
I love me some Emma Lovewell. We've been friends for over 15 years and our friendship naturally started to evolve over the years from dancing, working out, working together, and being at the same modeling agency for years. The evolution of our friendship is special and one of a kind. Most times in life you don't meet a friend later in your life and grow together. We grew together in NYC in a place and a new space.
The biggest takeaway of our friendship is that we were able to cultivate our relationship. This looks like honesty, transparency, and communication. We Facetime each other almost every other day for the past few years and we make each other better by not always agreeing with each other. And one of the things I've learned from Emma is how to let a friend be a friend. We are very different but we are also uniquely similar.
We are able to live with differences and connect on our similarities and I recognize how special that is. We've been with each other through ups and downs - from losing grandmothers to Emma gaining a baby, getting jobs, and negotiating contracts we were able to be there for each other. I'm very proud of our friendship and that we're honest and open and we truly truly love each other and want each other to succeed.
We've been able to cheer each other on in every regard without any feelings of negativity so Emma means a lot to me but in summation, we've been able to evolve our friendship and be ourselves in every phase of life.
A favorite memory Ally has With Emma
One of my favorite memories with Emma is when she met Dave. When she first started talking to Dave (I don't know if they were technically dating at that point) I remember taking one of her cycling classes (she could get me in free before I was an instructor) and I took one of her classes and after we met up for lunch she told me about Dave.
I think the reason why this is so special is because this was the moment I recognized we were adults. We weren't dating just to date, we were finding our forever guy. Dave sounded so cool and I couldn't wait to meet him and at Emma's next birthday I met him. I was with my boyfriend and our friends and we all met Dave and low and behold he is a fantastic human being.
We were navigating careers and professions and are looking at long term relationships instead of dating. I think that's a fond memory of knowing someone when they first started dating the person that they decided to spend the rest of their life with."
